Mizan Research Centre (MRC) is a research wing of the Faculty of Leadership and Management, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). MRC was established in May 2016 and aims to disseminate information regarding Mizan (balance) in every aspect of human lives as prescribed in the Holy Quran in Surah al- Rahman. The centre celebrates universal values for all humankind. The Kampung Mizan Initiative is a collaborative research between Bank Rakyat and USIM, which is fully sponsored by Bank Rakyat. The research project is headed by Prof. Madya Dr. Mahazan Abdul Mutalib, and Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak as key advisor. MRC research niche is multidisciplinary, ranging from Islamic studies, art social science, and science and technology. The overarching principle of MRC is to establish a Mizan (balanced) society in various aspects of human life such as environmental development, leadership, business and economy, education, religion and spirituality, social and humanity, health and development, culture and heritage, and many others. MRC focuses on preserving the Mizan nature of human beings and its environment as the centre strives to inculcate correct understanding over the issue of development and future. The Mizan initiative from an overall perspective, touch on the fundamental aspects of human and environmental needs for approaching the crisis of disequilibrium that is experienced everywhere. This is seen especially in environmental crisis, soulless research, and political instability as well as leadership crisis. Mizan research clusters cover various areas of study to meet Mizan application in the context of USIM, Mizan in Social - Islamic studies, education, psychology, and Indigenous People; Mizan in Economics - muamalat and entrepreneurship; Mizan in Environment and Technology – built environment; Mizan in Health - dentistry and medicine.
