IBNU UMMI MAKTUM RESEARCH CENTRE The exploration on integrated spiritual approaches among person with special needs began when Faculty of Quranic & Sunnah Studies (FPQS) started offering the compulsory faculty course, the Application of Braille in Quranic & Sunnah Studies (QNR3013) since 2008. In 2010, FPQS formed a special interest group (SIG) focusing on Quran Sunnah for special needs which was inspired by Surah al-Qamar:54:17, 22, 32 & 40; And We have certainty made the Quran easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? Beside overcoming challenge, UMMI is committed to collaborate with NGOs, institutions and volunteers to develop an Islamic integrated social model based on A,B,C,D approaches [Ability Based; Barrier-Free; Community Based & Dependency]. lbnu UMMI Maktum Research Centre is a platform for research and services involving special needs community to promote and aspire a balanced lifestyle. It is a continuous effort in delivering education based on spiritual approach to instill religious knowledge in persons by focusing on learning differences among persons with special needs, based on Integration of Naqli (revealed) & Aqli (human) knowledge. 2. AADK THERAPY MODEL NADA Career Therapy Model is developed in linewith Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in maintaining the good health and well-being and ensuring the decent work and economic growth. With the goals to help recovering clients in rehabilitation centers to find newmeaning in career path and providing career alternatives. This is also in line with the components highlighted by United Nation Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in 2008 in rehabilitation management, which are Career Component (Domain 5) and Vocational Skill Component (Domain 6). Outlined in the career therapy model are three key figures which are i) self-concept, ii) career planning and iii) coping strategies, and is intervened by means of psycho- educational method delivery. The result from experimental research conducted has shown that NADA Career Therapy is effective in enhancing the clients’ self- concept, elevating career planning and maturity as well as strengthen their internal locus of control in maintaining abstinence to seek for employment afterwards. The module has been declared as an Intellectual Property (Copyright) and has been adapted by NADA as part of the training for its rehabilitation officers from all over the country.
